bday camp

we camp on david's birthday. that's tradition. last year, the camping trip was cancelled when state parks closed their facilities in the COVID shut down. this year, planning was hard because who knew what june would bring? who can do what? what are we comfortable with? so instead of the usual huge group camp crowd, we grabbed one family and headed to the deep northwoods. it was glorious. note to self: site 16 at the sandy beach lake campground in the northern highlands american legion state forest is perfect. note to everyone: this is the best camping in wisconsin, bar none.

yeah, the cat went, because she was either going to die from the infected facial abscess that was draining all over the place, or the antibiotics we were giving her were going to work, but either way, she needed monitoring and nursing care. spoiler: she pulled through.
