a new marriage

isn't a wedding just the loveliest thing? when two people, who on their own are fabulous and strong and kind and smart and beautiful, come together and chose to make themselves lesser and more through a union based on compromise and sharing and love...that's just my favorite thing to be present for.

and then! when those people are two of your dearest friends? well, nothing but happy joyful cheer all weekend long; and that is exactly what happened last weekend when we were so so very lucky enough to be present for my friend kate's wedding to her longtime friend and love, jesse. they're both wonderful, and i'm thrilled to see them take the jump together into the easiest and hardest and most rewarding union there is. welcome, kate and jesse, to the happy friendship of marriage.


first off, a party to welcome us all to their wedding on the beach, and a chance to see friends, meet an important new baby in my life, and a chance to sneak away to call our own important babies. check out this cool dude, ducking out of the wind, to call his little monkeys.

and here i am, meeting the new and fresh and sweet baby lucille.

the next day, our kind friends showered kate with some pre-wedding love, incuding a relaxing and restorative and very centering group yoga class in a beautiful mountain home.


and then! the wedding!
joined at their wedding by friends, family, their sweet dog, and married by their closest and dearest friend stephanie (who also happens to be one of my favorite humans. ever.), it was an emotional and simple and pure ceremony.
