with each year of their short lives thus far, ramona and james accumulate toys toys toys. and they LOVE their toys. they have learned about sharing, engineering, and imagination with their toys. with that said, there are only so many toys that young children need (and a 1300 square foot house can accommodate). so i bring you this, a list of non toy gift ideas for the upcoming birthday and holiday seasons not only in our house but in the houses of my nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

and so, to lock it's place in internet time and to hold it in my memory, here it is: a blogger's clever list of non toy gifts for children and non toy gifts for toddlers. and hey, while we're at it, how about ideas for the soon-to-be teenagers in our lives (rachel! lilly! can that really be true??).
