rounding out what will surely forever be remembered as the shortest year of our lives, james had his first birthday amid family joy today. it seems just moments ago that he was born; we blinked, and he turned into a toddler. a beautiful, happy, perfect toddler. we love you little magic man!
one year ago, resting quietly in the hospital
today, riding his new truck while sporting the birthday crown,
contemplating his very first birthday cake,
and taking in the overwhelming sights at ella's deli on his very first birthday dinner trip to that whack-a-doo restaurant.
