laundromat life

we thought that maybe the concrete would be poured in the basement a full week ago, but--as these things go--it hasn't yet been poured. some plumbing back up situations, some water situations, some sump pump situations have all conspired to push things back a bit. but this still doesn't mean it remains a useable space. plumbing changes have rendered the laundry useless, and the floor is a fragile styrofoam, which doesn't make for a good walking surface.

so it's back to the laundromat, which is a rather pleasant place, really. i've always kind of liked them. i like making things clean and neat and tidy, i like warm spaces and sunshine (which pours through the windows), and i like getting all my laundry done in 90 minutes. so while i wish there weren't "plumbing situations" in my basement, i am certainly not miserable.

let's enjoy a laundromat themed music video from some of my favorites:

and if you're looking for some excellent laundromat themed reading, i recommend "a pocket for corduroy" by don freeman.
