first day of spring?

today is march 1, which marks the first day of meteorological spring. i realize we are still 20 days away from the spring equinox, and a full week away from the spring time clock change, but i still identify most with the weatherman and meteorological season changes--march 1 is spring in my book. i was thinking about that this morning as i looked around and noticed how very much like spring it looks here in madison. then i got to work, and found my little windowsill succulent bloomed into flowers last night for the first time ever.

so it seems like my little office window plants are also on the same page: today is spring, and we are celebrating.
