NEW YORK CITY?!
after saying our goodbyes to all the friends, we headed back to the city to drop off the rental car, and take a cab into the city. i mean, how can you expect me to be so so so close and NOT go? i love that city. i can't explain it. i just love it there. i'm sure they even make pretty good salsa.
driving in....something i never thought i'd do
peek of the city from the triborough bridge
and the view of the northwest corner of washington square park in the west village from our hotel room.
first stop on sunday afternoon: pizza.

the high line! the best line!
renaissance singers and their super awesome free concert under an overpass on the high line.
trekking west on 23rd street
and a visit to the iconic flatiron building
dinner at the original shake shack (and ramona managed to spot some rats in the bushes by our table, so we had the necessary "don't look down" conversation...)
empire state building peek-a-boo.
and then back home down a crowded 5th avenue (so many close calls with these kids on scooters....earned a few new gray hairs) to washington square park and to bed.
but you guys, there are so many more photos, and it's my blog, so you're gonna see 'em. stay tuned for the monday and tuesday nyc adventures.
