sports stars

david's sports league is back this year, ready to swing the softball bats and catch the pop flies. they were a team last year, and they spent the end of the summer and early fall learning weekly lessons about teamwork and good sportsmanship and losing with grace. their game was uncharacteristically early last night, so lots and lots of wives and kids attended, and we all had a front row seat to all that teamwork, sportsmanship, and losing with grace. they had fun, despite the 17-2 loss. it was such great fun to watch.

david even made a heroic if misguided slide into third in his shorts, with easily anticipated results to the knee (but he did get a run out of the deal on the next hit, which was 50% of his team's final score. WORTH IT.)

there they are. good guys, all of 'em. (and that sweaty one in the front row is the best of them). (also, see the monkeys on the top row photobombing? two of those monkeys belong to me).
