school's back!

the end of the summer is here, and it's been a weird rainy one. these kids have  been super awesome to spend time with, have been (mostly) happy to play together all summer, and have done almost no math or discernible skills preservation. i like summer like that.



but now it's time to get back to it. they were pretty happy to go back, despite ramona's nerves about being at a new school. our elementary school lapham is a 4k through second grade place, so james will spend this year firmly in the middle of the lapham crowd as a first grader. ramona is now off to the other side of the isthmus for third grade at marquette, a third through fifth grade school. they take the bus--different buses, same bus stop.



and after their first day of school, they rode their bikes to get some ice cream with me. because it's still kinda summer, right?
