there are lots of days (most days) that i think to myself "we need more space" or "we need another bathroom" or "wouldn't it be nice if we had a mudroom" or....well, you get the picture. i love my house. but it's small. and i am usually the first person to vociferously argue for the benefits of living in a small house. the benefits are many, and reflect a lot of my core beliefs.
but sometimes i have to go to the bathroom, and i have to wait in a line of 3 people.
there is one time of year, however, that i almost completely stop dreaming of moving to a newer, better, slightly bigger house. and this is now. this time of year, the backyard is a dreamy oasis of blooming flowers, playing kids, splashing kiddie pool time, and clucking happy chickens. it is the best. that yard is going to be the thing that keeps me grounded right here on baldwin street forever.
maybe.
this one isn't a picture of the yard, but it is a great picture. this kid has been begging for water guns (any type of gun, really) and our next door neighbor took pity on him and bought him a bunch of water guns so he could shoot her over the fence. she's the best neighbor. and he's a good kid.

You can never have too many guns.
