spring sun

we had the warmest winter, a cold spring, and a weirdly cold first part of april. but then! this weekend! 70 degrees and sunny, summery weather, just in time for the first farmer's market, hiking in a state park, time at the beach, and an overnight trip to mormor and morfar's house. it was a wooooonderful weekend, and was only marred by david's absence. david was sorely missed, but got to enjoy equally gorgeous weather while visiting a friend in new york.

while david explored the big apple, we had donuts at the farmer's market,


 climbed trees,

 
talked to daddy on the phone,


took a little state park hike,


and had some state park beach time with a friend (and wore her hat).


later, we drove to plymouth to see mor mor and mor far, where a well deserved and cozy bath was had.


cows were fed,



and sunny lounging was accomplished.

we visited tenney beach while we waited for david to arrive,

and liked it so much that we went back the next day with friends.
 

even our cold and beleagured magnolia tree pulled it together and mustered up a gorgeous bloom this weekend.

we were a happy group in the summer sunshine of mid april, only missing our dear david.
