playhive!

there are play structures with monkeybars (we had some, they rotted and broke when a visitor was on them), there are play structures with slides (we had one, but the slide wasn't secured to the table we had the kids climbing up on top of, so....that's down now, too), and there are play structures with all sorts of other things. but in our yard? there's a play structure that looks like a beehive.

and this playhive structure was an absolute labor of love. david cut and sanded 600 pieces of wood for this structure, which took abut 1.5 years. it took so long because there is no time. once or twice a weekend, during the 1-2 hours of quiet time, he would sneak outside and sand a few more pieces every week. when the pieces were all finally sanded, that structure went up likety split. and everyone loves it. EVERYONE. so come over and give it a try.

look at this big helper with the drill.

halfway through construction, everyone takes a break. look at that cat.

done, and played upon.

I've seen it; it's wonderful. So much fun for the kids and a beautiful addition to the yard. Well done, David.
