everyone has these stories from college. if everyone is lucky, they still have these friends. i am very lucky. (also, i think a take home message is this: college boyfriends are a good source for girlfriends.)
these friends of mine (jackie, kate, steph, stacy) have stayed friends, and we all manage to see each other as a group at least once per year. we have lived as far away as new zealand, we have gone to graduate school, completed medical residencies, dealt with long distance relationships, gotten married, struggled with hardships, had some babies, changed jobs.... you know, life. and through it all, we are still there for one another. having friends who stay constant and consistent from age 18 to now and into the future make it easy. we just pick up where we left off when we are together.
so all this blather about my girlfriends is due to our recent weekend together. it was tremendous fun.
we spent the day in the glorious madison sunshine at the terrace, walking along state street, having dinner together, and laughing our way into the wee hours of the morning. some husbands were there, and a few brothers and a sister in law, and we all had a blast.
the next day, we had a baby shower for kate, who is beautiful with that baby bump. look at those grown ups.
but we weren't always so grown up. sadly, i don't have any pictures available to me at the moment of our lives in the pre-digital photo era (which, for me, ended in 2005). but here are a few, dating since the birth of my digital photo library.
2005
2007
