after thanksgiving day, we came home so i could work on friday and the kids could skate at the new rink at the (finally, finally!) complete new edgewater hotel.

but saturday! saturday, we loaded back up in the car and drove to chicagoland to see david's sisters and their families. again, a very short but wonderful visit, this time filled with birthday presents, leftover turkey, football, cousins, and time well spent with family.

james opened more birthday presents, and could NOT believe his luck when he saw a super man with a MOTORCYCLE, and a batman WITH A...tool belt thing? or, like, a string with a hook? oh boy, i'm probably the worst at remembering super hero facts and details. sorry in advance, james.
later we had a little video phone wtih nana,
which always reminds me of pee wee's playhouse and the futuristic "picture phone" that i never believed was possible.
anyway, later, we ate tons of yummy thanksgiving leftovers, watched a muppet's christmas carol, and then slept snugly in our beds (all of which: not pictured).
the next day, we got to watch maggie warm up before a tennis match. she's awesome, and has a bit of an arm on her. ramona and maggie took the opportunity to have a little athletic club chat. they're adorable.

I absolutely love the picture of all the kids talking to us on the computer. I miss them all so much, but this allows us to keep up a little. FaceTime and texting, the life of a Snowbird Grandmother.
