our kids watch videos sometimes. i'm not going to lie about that. i am keenly aware of the fact that screen time kills brain cells and grows fat cells and etcetera etcetera etcetera. but sometimes, i need to make dinner, and sometimes kids who no longer nap but should need to chill out in the middle of the day.

SO. the struggle to find quality programming that isn't violent, too fast paced, annoying, full of horrible messages for young girls and boys, or age inappropriate is a daily struggle. when we find something that we can all agree on, we go with it. like wild kratts, in which two brothers (chris and martin kratt) travel the world and educate children about animals. the kids love the animals and the learning (ramona told me today that borneo is an island nation where orangutans live). i love that martin kratt looks just like madison's former mayor dave cieselwicz. we all win.
