the next day, the kids donned their costumes for a halloween party in minnehaha park, complete with horse-drawn hay rides, candy prizes for games, face painting and bounce houses. as an aside: is minnesota the only place that calls bounce houses "moon walks"? that is what i called them, growing up in minnesota. but here in wisconsin, and in colorado, and in california, it's all "bounce house." i think i prefer "moon walk" and will deploy that term as soon as possible.
ANYWAY, good times.
the party was good, the kids were awesome, and the weather was phenomenal. i mean, cousins in a hammock in late october?
cousins doing some tandem beach ball core strengthening work outs in the backyard in late fall? that takes some seriously nice weather.
morfar held one of the new kittens (emily, right?), in the sunshine. it was that kind of day, folks.
the drive home wasn't bad, either--a stop at the norske nook in osseo fix what ails you. i've already eaten 75% of the 2 rounds of lefse that i bought there. (it is important to note that eating that much lefse in one week will not ever fix what ails you.)
