like, this, for instance. why just go to our first farmer's market of the summer to buy asparagus, when we can go to the first farmer's market of the summer and EAT SPRINKLE DONUTS? right?
the WORT block party (a perfect place to listen to reggae, view the madison scene, eat cheese curds and have a few local brews) kicks off the neighborhood festival season. i propose that summer be renamed neighborhood festival season. i have lots of good ideas.
i'm on a boat! look at this kid. he was made for sunset pontoon cruises.
but why just pontoon cruise, when you can take a family canoe trip to the terrace? the terrace now has public boat parking, with perfect little canoe slips. thumbs up, indeed.
nice lawn chairs, kids.
speaking of the terrace, there's been a lot of ice cream consumed at my alma mater's student union by my little progeny and their cute buddies. it's nice.

we also went to a drum circle birthday party on the near eastside, because those are the kinds of birthday parties we have on the near east side.
our little drum loving musician boy was completely amazed and nearly paralyzed during the entire thing.

but it's not all fun and games. the kids have to scrape old pain off the foundation to earn those ice cream cones and boat rides. obviously.
