catch up

the end of february is always a quiet, cold time, but james and ramona always find a way to spice up the most mundane of late winter days.

i mean, to quiet monday afternoon trip to the doctor with mommy is boooooring. but you know what is less boring? a pig suit.


and even less boring than that? lunch out at noodles with a little piggy.


at home, we could just do play doh, OR we could have a "picnic" to "celebrate" our "anniversary." when asked what anniversary they were celebrating, ramona immediately informed me that they've been married for a year. how did i miss that?


ramona also got her first skull radiation treatment dental xrays, and she was very brave. there are moments every day that absolutely shock me when i realize how old she has become, or what surprising flashes of maturity a four year old can have. she's kind of amazing.


but the fun isn't just for the kids. my parents generously spent a day playing with the kids so david and i could get in a few runs at our nearby ski hill cascade mountain. after a few years away from the slopes, i was ready to ski on anything with any kind of pitch at all, so cascade did not disappoint in the way i feared it might (a friend once called it "soul crushing"...ahem, smoothdave).
