we started a front yard fort,
we lounged about in deep drifts,
and we dusted off the slide for a little fast winter-time sliding. this exact event lasted for at least 30 minutes straight (which is a loooong time for anything for a 2 and 3 year old).
this shoveling job was a real-deal cardio work out. that is a clear sidewalk, minus the sled of course.
later, david ran to the cat food store on cross country skiis (his feet, as proof),
and then i took my turn on skiis in our neighborhood park (my feet and the park bridge in the background, as proof). it was dreamy.
if you look closely, you can see my xc tracks just behind this lifeguard chair. there was no lifeguard on duty, naturally.
even benjamin franklin, the tabby siberian tiger, spent over 3 hours out in the snow (his tiny little kitty footprints as proof).
not everybody got fluffy snow. there are still thousands and thousands of people without power in the wake of this storm, and that includes family members. the prospect of a cold and dark christmas is not a nice thing, and you will be in our thoughts and prayers until the lights are back on.
