when ramona was 18 months old, she showed some early interest in potty training, so we really pounced on it. we bought a potty chair for the kitchen (where we spend all of our time), wecheered, we danced to celebrate curiosity about the chair, we did serious diaper free time (which was not without consequences), and she kind of lost interest and started using the potty chair as a step stool to peer out the kitchen window.


different kid, also 18 months old, same idea for potty-chair-as-step-stool, all on his own. (minus the early interest in potty training of course).


it's not that i'm comparing them. but sometimes, they're just so similar....
