if you were to go down to our basement this week, you'd hear an adorable high pitch but oh-so-quiet chorus of "cheep cheep cheep peep peep peep" (that is, you'd hear it if the sump pump wasn't running, the furnace wasn't running, or the dehumidifier wasn't running; and let's be honest, this whole stupid month, all three of those things have been running simultaneously and without rest thanks to nearly nonstop cold rain and persistent bone chilling winter. so, yeah, i'm a little tired of the weather, but that is a different blog post entirely). where were we? chickens.
fistful of chickens
fuzzy round little chicken
our proud poultry wrangler
gentle, gentle, gentle, GENTLE!
the first day of possible chicken arrival, we spent the afternoon awaiting the mail man. excitement levels were high. we're glad they're here.

hooray for the staple coop! they look like so much fun! are these different breeds than the Golden Girls, or a similar flock?
The new chicks are of four different breeds (Light Brahma, Batntam Brahma , Black Austolop, and Partridge Rock), all distinct from the breeds of our first group.
