ice queen

ramona got new skates from a neighbor last weekend. also, the lagoon in the park finally froze.
skates + ice = time to teach that kid to skate!
she was super excited to learn. there was lots of skate-walking with little steps, lots of falls, and one warm cup of cocoa at the end. we're totally going back tomorrow.

walking out to the ice with daddy.

a few first steps with the ice walker, but then her desire for independence took over...

and she was skating all on her own.
independent skating by an almost-three-year old goes like this:
scoot, scoot, skate, step,

and crash!

check out this kid's moves (and surprising resilience):

a hard working girl is afforded the luxury of being carried into the shelter after a grueling hour of skating and falling, and a warm cup of cocoa by the fire.

good old james just hung out in the stroller, getting pushed around in perfect figure 8s by his very talented skating parents.

Looks like fun. Can't wait to see her skate in person.
