summer stuff

summer is so full of fun to be had. we've been keeping busy with afternoon family swims,


cool refreshment breaks,


and relaxing swings.


when the heat drives us inside for the sweet cool air conditioning, we have sibling rides


and practice crawling.


we've been to the zoo a few times,


we try to water the vegetables every day but can't seem to keep up with the drought,


and we even snuck off to the duck pond for some baseball without the kids. the mascot, maynard the mallard, was soaking wet and foul smelling by the time i found him for this picture at 10 pm. i suspect that the mascot costume causes lots of sweating in 100 degree weather. i also suspect that he gets beer poured on him. a lot.
