our dear friends and their sweet boy came to stay with us over the weekend. we haven't seen them since their move to shanghai over a year ago, but time and distance rarely matter with lovely friends, and chris and olivia are no exception. it was so nice to have them all to ourselves in madison for a few hours.

we taught wes how to feed the chickens, and he braved the coop with bare feet.

farmer's market, capitol lawn relaxation, and hot spicy cheese bread.



the "kiddie" pool became the "2 adults, 2 toddlers and 1 baby" pool. take that, heat advisory!
