easter fun

this year, easter was spent at home. aunt libby, uncle bob, and cousin lilly came to visit, and it was a perfect holiday weekend with family.

the traditional bunny bread (those are bunny rabbit shaped loaves of bread to accompany easter dinner) was baked,


the easter baskets were found and then pillaged,


and ramona and lilly participated in the neighborhood egg hunt. those were some seriously excited kids on those steps, and they were a little peeved with the parental picture taking. they didn't need any delays to the start of the important egg hunt/candy binge.


ramona, on the other hand, didn't have the same blind ambition to find as many eggs as quickly as possible as the neighbor kids. she was just so delighted to be allowed access to candy at all that upon finding each individual egg, she'd sit down and enjoy its contents. when the jelly bean was eaten, she'd get up and find another egg. poor kid didn't stand a chance against those competitive 10 year old egg hunters. not that she needs more sugar.


cousin lilly was a good sport and played along with ramona's easter-basket-as-hat silliness.


believe it or not, we are singing "on the good ship lollipop" in this picture. and we're singing it quite well.
