toddler alone time

when james is nursing in preparation for a nap, ramona plays quietly in her room. she usually reads book or plays with puzzles. she has gotten very good at this, and i am so proud of what a big and helpful girl she's become.

how.ever.

earlier this week, this is what i found after putting james down for his nap.

this doesn't look like reading or doing puzzles. this looks like a toddler trying to send a message to her mother.  maybe that message is "i don't like the way you've arranged the clothing in my dresser," or "where were you?". either way, not cool.

seems like she might be on the verge of creating a trend.  remember this?

 to be clear, i will not be happy about such a trend.
