epcot

epcot, or as the kids say "epi-cot," was the park i was most looking forward to. all the science! all the geographical and international information! all the pretend travel feelings! and it didn't disappoint.

after a quick monorail ride, we arrived and went directly to the scavenger hunt station. a friend told us about this, and it definitely made the whole day much more exciting for the kids. we got to go on secret spy missions with our favorite secret agent characters from phinnaeus and ferb, and the missions were all through the international areas at epcot. we used or smartphones to find things, follow clues and make cool things happen in mexico, china, japan, france, and italy. we also happened to use up a month's worth of 3G data while we were there, but that's a different story.

here it is--the start of the scavenger hunt, right under the monorail.

i loved the food, music and super authentic feel of all the countrys at epcot, but i also loved the rides. mission to mars was CRAZY awesome, and probably traumatized ramona for the rest of her life. she's not going to be an astronaut after that crash landing on the surface of mars.

there is some trepidation on these faces as we wait to board our shuttle.

we did the nemo ride through a world class aquarium,

and did a super amazing 4D movie experience that felt more like hang-gliding than watching a movie.

there was mickey shaped ice cream,

and heavy duty topiary magic.

but, that world showcase, you guys. i was in love.

china!

(warrior princess mulan lives in china, obvs)

norway!

they sell lefse in norway (obvs)

japan!

morocco!

france! complete with stress performer!

england (through which a tired little girl was carried)

germany! (where energy was restored with a giant pretzel, orange soda, and bier)

italian piazza selfies

canada, mexico, and the us were there too, and mexic was gorgeous, but we didn't take pictures of the north american countries because booooooorrrrring.

for dinner, it was an awesome hibachi place in japan, and i'm certain we got the most entertaining chef in the whole place.

it was a fabulous day.
