winter resort

we found some very natural and bountiful snow in the northwoods last week, and i want to go back asap. the afterglow resort is a tiny slice of wisconsin northwoods family owned heaven on a small quiet lake, and they groom miles and miles of cross country ski trails. when we arrived last friday, the temperature was 2 degrees and dropping, and the weekend was gonna be clear and cold cold cold. we managed just fine.

but oh goodness was it cold. even the bestest of wax recommendations couldn't give us glide.

but maybe best of all was the last night when the owners hosted a happy hour, we watched a vikings game, and the adults did a shotski while the kids were playing in the game room.

and even when we left, there was still a beautiful ice castle in eagle rive on the drive home. WINTER!
