aunt libby came to spend time with ramona and james. they had a blast, and libby is "the most fun" and "so nice" and according to ramona, "the second best bedtime face stroker." we surely didn't want to get in the way of their fun, so david and i drove 3 hours north to wausau to get in a few runs at granite peak. i am always surprised at the quality of skiing there. total bonus: it was zero degrees on a beautiful sunny saturday, and the cold kept people away and we didn't spend a single minute standing in a lift line. we skiied right down those runs and directly onto the chairlift, over and over and over and over and over....
we did stop for some fireside chili and cheese curds in the cozy lodge.
our hotel room was walking distance to the hill....
and had a hot tub outside, where we watched some fireworks and heard an owl kill something in the woods. it was pretty awesome.
