it was a big weekend, you guys.
i went to milwaukee with these beautiful friends, and had some dinner and then went to the WORST bar (where a girl was dressed in a super cheap "flapper" costume and danced on a table--but, like, in a classy way?--to live country music, and the "champagne cocktail" tasted like robitussin. it was weeeeeird and bad.) we had a very very nice and lovely time.
the next day: the big event. james' birthday party at chuck e. cheese. THE event. THE thing. he was so happy.

even this guy had some fun.

the next day: my big event. the madison half marathon, ran joyfully through my neighborhood with friends right past my very own tiny cheering section.

out on the course, and i know you can't tell, but this is the top of a killer hill with a sweet view of the capitol across the lake.

finish line!

and if that wasn't enough, we drove 45 minutes down the road to a sweet old school dinner theater, where the kids feasted on sugar drinks as part of their 4 course meal,
posed in the rich deep dark supper club scene,
felt all happy,
and then headed into the theater to watch a great performance of miracle on 34th street.
i am sure it surprises no one to learn that when i woke up the next morning, i was sicker than a dog.

I'm pretty sure I remember going to Chuckee Cheese for David's birthday.
