planning for the coming of easter felt different, as we usually spend holy week preparing a big meal and preparing our house for company and celebrations. instead, we continued to focus on homeschool with the district's online format that started that monday, and with our own enrichment. david and i kept working, and together we worked with the kids to hold the delicate home balance. some days were easier than other days.
we kicked the weekend off with homemade mask making, following the CDC's recommendation to start mask wearing any time you are out of the house. they're just the worst to have to wear.

we did lots of playing at home and even cajoled the kids in to a 12 mile bike ride around lake monona. let's just say it was peak grumpiness, and a total disaster.
so. much. grouchiness.

on palm sunday, the sun shone, the backyard obstacle course was built, couch tennis was invented, the driveway dance party was a hit, and the breakfast homemade sourdough cinnamon rolls were prepped with love. we closed out palm sunday with the annual watching of jesus christ superstar.
and we started monday with the first day of online school and fresh cinnamon roll breakfast (not pictured; just imagine it. it was spectacular.)

we were cheered by afternoon play time,
outdoor art projects,
friendly neighborhood cocktail deliveries,
beautiful math lessons,
and art. there is so much art in the staple homeschool.
