but obviously i'm gonna tell you all the fun stuff we did in santa cruz. , too. that's a big part of this little record i make of our lives, which is a diary for myself to use a back up method when my own memory fails.

we visited the old house on mountain view avenue in seabright....just 3 blocks from our beach cottage rental on mott. i'll never stay anywhere else in that city.

we checked out the redwoods in henry cowell state park

we visited the best of the city beaches, every day, multiple times a day

we trekked across the big main beach, along the amusement park,

we looked at sea lions

we rode rollercoasters,

and water splash rides

we snuggled and relaxed

i went for a few runs, each time through picturesque morning seaside scenes

we climbed the old whale

and we climbed the boat harbor breakwall tetrapods

and walked the tracks to get to the favorite restaurants

and we peeked in tide pools at pleasure point to explore the wonders of the intertidal zone

those wonder include a giant sea slug called a seahare

and, of course, the starfish

and there were all manners of flight changes, cancellations, airport changes, delays and a looong day but then this glorious arrival to home, over our isthmus, at sunset. it was perfect.
