dias de dad

david isn't exaggerating when he says we spend every father's day on the road, driving somewhere to be with my extended family. i've looked back. i've checked the records. he's mostly right. sometimes we have driven home from michigan, but always always always that sunday we are on a long drive.

whelp. this father's day was no exception. so to combat the loss of a day devoted to him, we ate cake and had present on friday. i hope he knows how much he means to us.



and then we packed up and drove to minneapolis for a weekend with my parents and sister and her family, and an extended family reunion.

these dads got some backyard nap time,


and showed off their dad skills by wrangling kids near a waterfall in the hot sunshine.


it was great, and then we drove home. on father's day. for 4 hours. in the dark.

happy father's day, david. we couldn't do all the crazy without you.
