fernando built his 3 story house in madrid by hand, and it is amazing. the first floor and the pool house are apartments that he rents out, and then floors 2 and 3 of the house are his zone. despite his long standing relationship with coco for 11 years, they maintain separate living spaces, but share a coastal vacation home in benindorm. that's their only shared home; in madrid, fernando has this place, and coco lives in her place with laura and laura's brother james, and everyone is just perfectly happy with the arrangement. fernando gave us the top floor of his house--usually the billiards/bar room and the movie theater, and he and coco and laura all stayed on the second floor. it was....just....completely amazing. in our wildest dreams, when laura said "come visit me in spain; you can stay at my mom's boyfriend's house" did we have ANY idea that it would be this awesome.
