we took a rainy stroll with coffee and umbrella under the train tracks and down a few cute little streets to find a good brunch spot, where we did the typical millenial sunday morning activity: wait one hour for brunch. kids these days.... but it was a good meal, and i tried very hard to accept the wait time as an experience instead of allowing it to agitate and excite my anxieties about wasting precious vacation time by just sitting still! even now it agitates me.... but i managed my feelings and had some pretty good eggs, too.

after brunch, we biked through the light drizzle to the art gallery of ontario (AGO). it is expansive, impressive, and huge. the canada artist scene is thriving, and they know how to paint some winter scenes (and do a lot of other cool art stuff, too).

after the art stuff, we biked over the baseball stadium.

even though the rain had stopped, the roof was closed and it made for a very nice afternoon activity. the bluejays beat the orioles in a pretty good game, and the vendors sell more poutine than hot dogs. canada!

dumplings for an early dinner at a little place that we were told was a "can't miss" sort of hole in the wall, and holy cats was that good advice. i'd go to loga's corner all the time if i could. i'm a dumpling fan.

we talked to the kids on the hotel stoop,
we visited our rooftop bar for happy hour,

and tasted the local brew at a brewery on ossington, one of which was berry based and was way better than expected.

but by the end of the day, we were tired, wanted to watch some netflix on the ipad, and eat the rest of our dumplings in peace.
what a wonderful weekend, what a wonderful place, what a wonderful gift. thank you, mom, dad, and david.
