remember "back to life, back to reality" from 1989, by soul II soul? it's so good. the video is so awesome, and everything they are wearing is hip and cool in a retro way now. which reminds me that i am now old enough that things that were real to me are now "retro" to Kids These Days.
treat yourself to a view:
but anywaaaaay, i'm thinking about that soul II soul song because we are back to life and reality. i've been spending a lot of my free time since getting back from our trip blogging about our trip. but that's done, and we have been busy.
busy with visiting family and visiting friends, concerts, hitting the beach and drinking kiddie cocktails (and feeling all the sugary joy!).
sisters! the BEST!! we had some solid sister time in madison,
then we went to my parents' house. we took some strolls in the countryside,
and wished my dear grandmother a happy birthday.
less than a week later, my dear friend stacy and her cute babies came for a wisconsin visit from california. so I grabbed the kids, and steph grabbed a few beers, and we took a spin around a little lake. ramona fell in love with fiona right away, and james fell in love with baby dylan right away (and has asked for a baby every few minutes since their visit).
we took aretha to the vet for her annual check up, and the kids brought their animals so aretha wouldn't be scared. it's not easy to see, but the stuffed animals are all wearing necklaces.
james drew this creepy guy, and told me his name is "Paul."
we saw wilco at an awesome outdoor neighborhood venue,
and got drenched in the rain after the show. rain can be so fun if you don't care about getting wet. the concert was over, and we didn't care.
we've been eating in restaurants, and ordering extra cherries!!
