despite el ninos best effort to stop winter in wisconsin, the blackhawk ski club will keep those snow makers running on the cold nights until the slush is piled up to allow a few kids to take a few runs down a little hill or two. and this saturday, the snow making effort paid off and the hill opened! getting boots ans skis back on our feet for the first time each year is always a giddy-making joyful occasion, and saturday was no different. those kids skied with us in garbage conditions with a wet slush-coated tow rope in the hot sun (well, you know what i mean. it was actually one of the most beautiful days of the fall), and they loved it all. bring on the cold and the snow--we are ready!
