we were told that the new education standards include the ability to write a sentence by the end of kindergarten. we didn't believe that was possible, and it still seems craaazy to expect that of a six year old. but you know what? it's happening. i mean, it is happening with hard work, but it really is happening. the things ramona brings home just blow my mind. she can unscramble words, spell by sounding words out, and even has started writing her name with upper case followed by lower case letters. it is literally like watching an unbelievable magic trick unfolding in front of our eyes. amazing.
this little project here was "very hard" and was done without any help, according to the kindergartener.

It's wonderful to relive this through our grandchildren. Thanks for sharing.
