i love this song and listen to it pretty often.
maybe i love it because it reminds me so very much of that other song that i used to listen to on my favorite mixed tape full of songs that i loved but never told anyone about. i made that tape in 1993, but it featured some real doozies from before i was born. the mixed tape included supertramp's "logical song," blood sweat and tears "spinning wheel," joni mitchell's "california," cat steven's "father and son," crosby stills and nash's "southern cross," and the very song to which i refer: jackson browne's "the load out." ooooh, man. i loved that song when i was 13, and i love it now. now that i'm recalling that mixed tape, i think i was a bit of a sap.
if you like jackson browne (why wouldn't you? mom, i think you maybe don't like jackson browne, so just...nevermind), you should listen to dawes. it's all good stuff.
