fathers day for us involved a special visit from david's parents, a fancy brunch at sardine, pool time in the sun, a short visit to a free concert in the park, and a long evening of sunsets, tire swing rides and bonfires. doesn't that sound like a good day? it was the best day.
it was a nice day because of the weather and the sun, the visitors, and the fun events, but even without all those picture perfect conditions, the day was nice because we've got this father in our family. david is the best father, and i know that for sure because...well, what other father do you know who lets his 5 year old cut his hair?
ok. so he's a pushover.
but he is also full of love, generosity, kindness, gentle guidance and instruction, forgiveness and soothing, laughter, tears, and all the stuff that makes a good dad.
i suspect he's such a good dad because he learned from his own good dad, and we got to celebrate papa on father's day, too.
brunch smiles
and brunch goofiness
cool pool dudes
a little sneak-away mid-day date
front step ice cream cones
a sunset like a fireball at the end of our street
sunset tire swing, spinning spinning spinning
and a late night fire, with tall flames licking up from our last christmas tree.

We had a wonderful visit with you that weekend with some chicken coop touring as well. I can't wait for the next visit.
