my book club (or, as we like to call ourselves, my "literary society") had our monthly get together last night, and invited along two art teachers and their painting supplies. after two hours of painting instruction, fun, confusion, and some frustration, we all emerged with a successful painting of the beautiful steel bridge in our lovely and nearby neighborhood park, tenney park. it was kinda awesome. ramona was pretty excited by the idea, and woke with great anticipation of seeing mommy's painting. before i could even get downstairs to turn on the coffee pot, she had already gotten the markers and paper and whipped up her own interpretation of the painting. i love it. i just love it.
so here is my painting
and ramona's interpretation
and a side by side comparison. pretty good, eh? how about those two round little lillypads under ramona's bridge?
and the society of proud painters. coolest ladies on the near east side, that's for sure.
