christmas day was a day full of rest, gratitude, food, family, and sun. yep, it was sunny and in the mid-40s.
santa came, and he brought a cash register/calculator, among other things. the cash register/calculator was the surprise favorite.
there were also dragons and super heroes, cars and books, games and toys. (please see previous post about my new flash, which is seriously messing with my shutter speed, and i can NOT figure it out, so as promised: my pictures are worse. it is temporary.)
after the christmas morning gift explosion dust settled and the toys were well played with, mormor and morfar came! for me, christmas celebration isn't complete until it is spent with family. i am so glad that we were able to welcome some of our family into our home to share a meal and some christmas spirit. we had a lovely visit with my parents. the kids even snuck in a few rounds of their new board games with david and my dad while my mom and i did the dishes.
they also brought some pretty sweet presents, like a record player for the kids and wonderful christmas candles. (please check out this amazing christmas outfit. she picked it out herself, and was very proud of the thematic pink/red patterns in every piece she selected. it was breathtaking.)
later, we took a warm sunny stroll to a neighborhood beach,
climbed a tree, and spent a perfect last hour of daytime sunlight together.
