celebrating my heritage

it's easy to celebrate and embrace my Scandinavian heritage at christmas time because the decor is simple and bright, the food is easy to prepare and some of my FAVORITE, the drinks are strong (have ever had glugg with Aquavit? don't say I never warned you), and the cookies include, among many delicacies, krumkake. i grew up on these little roll up cookies. every year I struggle with recipe tweaks and the tedium of making them, and every year I am so glad I made them. tonight is no different.
