our gracious friends allowed us to invite ourselves up to their parents' lake house, bring our kids, make a big mess, and stay up too late. and thank god they did, because we all know how much david loves jumping into water, and how much i love a chance to photograph it.

ramona had endless underdogs on the tree swing

 theran took david, and then me, out on a windless day

everyone hung out on the boat for a little boat party

betty stole my hat, and proved my theory that she would look better in it that i do

and reed read to my little boy, solidifying his spot as james' best friend (along with our next door neighbor, suzie, his other best friend)

the next day, we drove 20 miles down the road to my old hometown of plymouth. we did all the important stuff: posed with a big cow, bought some cool stuff at the cheesetown market days at the fairgrounds, bough some burgers and root beer at the drive in, and then climbed trees at my parents' house.
