i know we've said it before, but we're going to say it again (and by we, i mean me, and i speak for all of us here at the davidandmarta blog): we really love madison.
i am so glad that we get to call this place home.
there's the lakes and the forests, the parks, the great trails. there is the capitol building and all the excitement that goes along with living in your state's capitol. there is the university campus--oh, the campus--our alma mater for 4 different degrees, representing a full 15 years of education between david and myself. the campus is huge and vibrant and ever changing and full of tradition and excitement, and my big proud alumnus heart just bursts with joy when we get top academic rankings or when our good good good basketball team makes the final four, or when we are in the rosebowl, or when our girl's hockey are big ten champions, or when those same players go on to be top US hockey olympic players, or when fellow alumni turn into amazing people doing worthwhile things for the good of all. and we've got farms and a farmer's market, fun parties and big races, and an eclectic mix of people all living here doing interesting things.
so, yeah. we really love madison.
and then i found this video, and for the entire 6 minute duration of this incredible timelapse video of our city and our campus and our lakes and our trails and our trees and our people and our sports, my big happy alumnus heart got all full all over again.
watch this. this is the place we love.
