halfiversary

march 17 is most commonly celebrated as st patrick's day, but around the staple house, we double celebrate. march 17 is our 6 month anniversary of our wedding date, september 17. it does not hurt to celebrate the anniversary twice in one year. last weekend we celebrated st. patrick's day AND the halfiversary in style.

we saw irish dancers at the overture center. first we waited, because you have to get there early if you want a seat. and we did, so we did.

then james cried a bit because those clogs are loud. but pretty soon we settled in to complete enjoyment.
oh my gosh, does no one comb their hair. sheesh.

this video has been james' favorite thing to watch of the past week.

we got brunch, complete with donuts, and got out the bikes for the inaugural 2014 family bike ride. it was cold, but those donut calories had to go somewhere.

the next day, the st. patrick's day parade delivered a bucky badger siting, a maynard the mallard siting, more irish dancers, bagpipes, and candy candy CANDY CANDY.

ramona, james, and their little besties sam and betty come up with a candy-getting plan of attack.

james is a vision in green.

after the parade, we had some beers in the sun on the front porch.
