florida sun time

7 full days in the florida sunshine is just the right amount of time to get a few more freckles, a few extra hours of sleep, and run  few extra non-treadmill miles. it also turns out to be the exact right amount of time for a 4 year old to learn to swim independently, and a 2 year to lose all fear of water. our visit to the naples staples was, as always, absolutely relaxing, joyful, and pleasant in every way. we are so grateful to have good family to visit and a good place to go, all in one stroke.

what did we do? for real: we sat in the sun, slept, ran and played, and swam swam swam.

beach digging with nana.

pool jumping,

and jumping,

and swimming,

and floating .

there was biking! this kid can really ride a bike with training wheels like it's her job. guess what, kiddo? no training wheels at home. she's in for a bruising experience this summer.....

and for the smaller set, there was tricycling!

we found the naples children's museum, and bounced on balls,

and then we found an empty outdoor stage. these monkeys wasted no time hopping up on stage and singing their "plant song" complete with sign language. david was eventually asked to leave the stage for lack of participation.

we spotted dolphins from the downtown pier,

and got low for more ocean observations.

it was really so so great. thank you nana and papa for everything!
