birthday celebration complete

before i post pictures of beautiful nor-cal coastal time with sisters, i should take a moment to share moments of joy from home. ramona's birthday was already 2 weeks ago, a few gifts are already broken and forgotten, and that delicious cake is long gone, but the joy of turning 4 has stuck with her.

one of my favorite things from my childhood--the viewfinder (?)--making its 2014 return to my adult life. this new fangled device has pictures in 3-D (and is sadly already broken).

this little video pretty much sums up the end of the birthday celebrations, at the end of a school day, at the end of a long week. birthday girl in new tap shoes. little brother in full jealous mode, plummeting quickly toward meltdown.

while not technically on her birthday, this picture brings me great joy on many levels. look how cute they are! look at how he looks at her! sibling love is a tenuous thing at times, but is perhaps one of the purest forms of love and adoration.
