bright and early on thanksgiving morning (or birthdaygiving, as james likes to call it) we headed to hann's tree farm in oregon, wisconsin. we crunched and slid over the snow, sought out a fir, and chopped it with ease. we also climbed the mountain of hay and the play structure, sledded down a hill or two, investigated the nativity scene, and posed in the wreath frame.
two hats: one too big, one too small
the tree farm
daddy's cheering squad...

and the triumphant hoisting of the tree.
the always-entertaining tree-shaker machine.

james investigates baby jesus, mary, and joseph (or, as james likes to say, jophes).
when we tell james to smile, he strikes his best chuky pose. at least he's trying.

this is the best we could do with the two of them. ah well. at least we had fun.

later, after bedtime, the adults-only trimming of the tree went off without a hitch.
poser.
