it's the holiday season

christmas eve is one short and busy week away! what are we doing to prepare?

we are carefully preparing our dairy free egg nog (surprisingly good, and no stomach ache!)...
 

messing with jesus' birth scene,
 

driving through the holiday fantasy in lights at olin park,

 

and having a fantasy about political peace, as portended here in the lights.
 

 we even found a concert of christmas songs performed by an orchestra in the capitol rotunda!
 

 we are increasing our sugar consumption with gingerbread cookies,


and little ice-cream-cone christmas trees, decorated with candy and frosting.


nothing says christmas like a sugar rush!
 

james likes to wind down at the end of a busy holiday season day with a little topless caroling at the dinner table. jingle bells, indeed.
